The First Holy Communion

23 children's will receive their First Holy Communion this year in St Mary's Church, Askeaton on Saturday 8th May.

Spiritual Garden of Remembrance

The Spiritual Garden of Remembrance will be officially opened shortly.
The garden is dedicated to the memory of all babies and infants who have died. It can also be a place where people who have lost a loved one can spend some quiet time away from worldly distractions in a natural setting for some prayer and meditation.
Within the garden is a labyrinth*, a water feature, a wild garden area, a pergola and árasán.
The garden is situated at the rear of Askeaton Church and is accessible through the archway on the right.
*The labyrinth is a kind of body prayer and links in with the ancient Christian and Celtic traditions of pilgrimage. It came to prominence in medieval times as a substitute for the pilgrimage to Jerusalem.

A huge thank you to all the hard-working men and women from the parish of Askeaton/Ballysteen who volunteered their time and energy over the past 2 years.
